How to hide your Google+ profile from Google search results

Privacy can be an issue when it comes to social networking. Of course, most of the time, privacy breaches can be blamed on the user, not the system. Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to hide yourself from future embarrassment by avoiding that your profile shows up on search results related to your name(or completely unrelated queries!).

It takes less than a minute to change the preference whether you would like to be found using search results, and here’s how:

  1. Login to Google+ and navigate to your profile page
  2. Click on the blue “Edit Profile” button on

Google +1 button updated, now faster and asynchronous

+1 Button from Google gets updatedSome webmasters have reported that Google’s Plus One (+1) button can slow down their blog and web site quite a bit. The good news is that Google reported to have addressed this issue and made the publisher button 3x as fast than before.

A source of complaint is that the JavaScript code needed to load the button is slow, therefore degrading the site speed and quality. That’s why some webmasters are reluctant to add the button on their site. It shouldn’t be a problem anymore as it’s now faster than ever! No changes in the … Continue Reading →

Here are some of the features included with this useful plugin:

Google+ suspending accounts en masse

User suspended in Google PlusWatch out, novelty accounts on Google+. Numerous users and celebrities have been blogging about getting suspended and kicked out of Google+ due to a violation of community standards. It seems that users not using their real name or businesses accounts are the ones targeted during today’s deletion, but also legitimate users and some celebrities accounts suspected to be fake and imitations. Users that are suspended will be met with the following message once they visit their profile:

“After reviewing your profile, we determined the nameyou provided violates our Community Standards.”

The team behind the social network site Fridge (frid.ge) announced earlier today that they have been acquired by Google as part of their ongoing recruitment drive for Google+. Not to mention that it’s great to organize work in a team … Continue Reading →

Google+ for businesses is coming soon

Google+ for businessGoogle has been actively removing users representing a brand or company on Google+. Just today, the search giant removed most of the non-personal accounts from Google plus in one swoop, creating a great controversy within the corporate users. Does this mean Google is trying to keep marketers and businesses away from establishing a presence on Google+? Not really, but separate corporate profiles will be introduced soon.

Christian Oestlien, Google’s product manager, wrote that over 10,000 organisations applied to be part of their pilot program for businesses, and the doors for the creation of corporate profiles … Continue Reading →

Be warned of malicious and fake Google plus invites

Google+, in the past few weeks, rapidly reached the milestone of 20 million users, setting an impressive record for such a new product still in invite-only testing.

Like everything popular, it’s only a matter of time before someone or a group find a way to exploit it for their own benefit. This time, the target is Google+ and the means to do it is using fake invites.

Kaspersky Lab just reported that malicious e-mails are being sent that imitate a real Google plus invite, but with disastrous consequences. The e-mail is shown in a format … Continue Reading →

This article was originally published on our sister site, PBJ Breaktime.

google plus circles and invitesGot your own Google+account but need friends and family to share it with? Google plus is currently an invite-only service(and pretty exclusive at that too) and you will need to send them an invite before they will be able to start using Google+.
