Google just opened its first retail kiosk in London, UK as an effort to promote Google’s Chromebooks running on ChromeOS. Called the Chrome Zone, Google hopes to help consumers choose and purchase the right chromebook for them. Unlike Apple Stores or Microsoft Store, the Chrome Zone is only a kiosk inside a branch of PC World.

Some webmasters have reported that Google’s Plus One (+1) button can slow down their blog and web site quite a bit. The good news is that Google reported to have addressed this issue and made the publisher button 3x as fast than before.

The team behind the social network site Fridge (frid.ge) announced earlier today that they have been acquired by Google as part of their ongoing recruitment drive for Google+. Fridge is a social media startup providing a social experience centered around “Groups”, eerily similar to Google plus’s Circles.
