Google+ invites now updated(and restricted)

If you are one of the lucky ones with a Google plus account the last two weeks, you would have noticed that you can invite an unlimited number of people to Google+ simply by entering their e-mail address. If you don’t know the e-mail address of someone you would like to invite and he isn’t on your imported contact lists, you’re out of luck.

The good news is that Google is rolling out a new system that address this issue over the next few days. You can now invite others by giving away your personal … Continue Reading →

Google +1 button updated, now faster and asynchronous

+1 Button from Google gets updatedSome webmasters have reported that Google’s Plus One (+1) button can slow down their blog and web site quite a bit. The good news is that Google reported to have addressed this issue and made the publisher button 3x as fast than before.

A source of complaint is that the JavaScript code needed to load the button is slow, therefore degrading the site speed and quality. That’s why some webmasters are reluctant to add the button on their site. It shouldn’t be a problem anymore as it’s now faster than ever! No changes in the … Continue Reading →

Not to mention that it’s great to organize work in a team … Continue Reading →

Google+ for businesses is coming soon

Google+ for businessGoogle has been actively removing users representing a brand or company on Google+. Just today, the search giant removed most of the non-personal accounts from Google plus in one swoop, creating a great controversy within the corporate users. Does this mean Google is trying to keep marketers and businesses away from establishing a presence on Google+? Not really, but separate corporate profiles will be introduced soon.

Christian Oestlien, Google’s product manager, wrote that over 10,000 organisations applied to be part of their pilot program for businesses, and the doors for the creation of corporate profiles … Continue Reading →

Be warned of malicious and fake Google plus invites

Google+, in the past few weeks, rapidly reached the milestone of 20 million users, setting an impressive record for such a new product still in invite-only testing.

Like everything popular, it’s only a matter of time before someone or a group find a way to exploit it for their own benefit. This time, the target is Google+ and the means to do it is using fake invites.

Kaspersky Lab just reported that malicious e-mails are being sent that imitate a real Google plus invite, but with disastrous consequences. The e-mail is shown in a format … Continue Reading →
